Long Before the Kitchen Became a Business
It began in the heart of a young child, fascinated by the art of cooking. Raised in a Haitian household, I spent my early years by my grandmother’s side, learning the art of blending spices and savoring the rich, flavorful dishes that were part of my culture. When I moved to the United States at eleven, I stepped into a new role as the oldest of six siblings, helping care for my family while my mother worked hard to make ends meet.
As I grew older, I found myself in careers that didn’t ignite my passion. It wasn’t until family and friends encouraged me to pursue what I loved cooking that I took the leap. As a self-taught chef, my curiosity only deepened. Watching cooking shows, exploring recipes on YouTube, and experimenting with flavors became part of my everyday life.
With every new dish, I wasn’t just learning I was evolving. I refined my craft, explored diverse flavors, and discovered the joy of creating something that could bring people together.
The road to where I am today hasn’t been without its challenges. There were seasons when anxiety felt like a battle within myself. But by the grace of God, I overcame those obstacles and found the courage to step fully into my calling.
Eventually, I made the bold decision to leave my 9-to-5 behind and build the business I had once only imagined. And that decision became the beginning of Kleo’s Kitchen.
